Protein Oat Slice
You've just done an early morning exercise session and you are short on time. Gotta eat something but what? Well then - why not this! These yummy Protein Oat Slices are full of nutrition to get your day started right - I mean - you've done the exercise, you might as well go all the way and back it up with some healthy food!
Ingredients
Method
- Heat oven to 180 degrees
- Boil kettle
- Add dates to a magic bullet or equivalent food blender But don't process yet
- Pour boiled water over dates to cover them.
- Then blend till they are puréed
- Mix dates purée, peanut butter and milk together in separate bowl
- In a separate bowl, mix all dry ingredients together.
- Add frozen blueberries to bowl and then fold through
- Add wet mix ingredients to dry ingredients and fold through.
- Keep mixing through. It will take some time. At first the mix will seem dry but as the oats soak in the moisture it will moisten. If still dry, add a splash of milk. The key is not having the mixture too wet!
- Line a rectangular baking tray with baking paper and add mix to try. Make sure you press the mix into the corners and smooth down the top
- Place in oven for approximately 25min
- Once the top is looking golden brown and firm to touch, remove from oven and leave to cool on a cooling rack
- When cool, cut into 24 slices.

Made this today to have before a game of netball. Super easy to make and already had most of the ingredients. Tastes delicious as well – hard to stop eating, but it’s healthy so that’s ok!
Really quick and easy slice to make (not to mention healthy and delicious!). Really good to make on the weekend and take as a snack to work each day.
Easy to make, baked in the hooded BBQ (no oven!) and good to go. Yum + also very filling – had two small slices after a workout on my way to work and kept me well and truly satisfied until lunchtime!
My favourite EpicWin recipe so far. Very easy to make and delicious. Perfect snack to go with my mid morning coffee instead of a chocolate bikkie. The next time I will try a slightly different flavour profile – chocolate protein powder, some hazelnuts, cacao nips, frozen raspberries.
This has been a great snack especially whilst I have been working from home. Quick and very easy to make. I made it with chocolate protein powder instead to help with my chocolate cravings 🙂
