When people approach a Personal Trainer, more times than not, it is because they are not happy with their body. Unwanted body fat, not enough lean muscle or simply put – your body just doesn’t do what it’s supposed to.

I find that most of the time, it’s a combination of all three and this is usually the reason why so many people struggle to identify how to fix the problems. Enter the Personal Trainer who is tasked with unraveling it all and getting you on road to reach your goals.

YOUR BODY IS A TEMPLE

We’ve all heard the phrase and it’s a bang on accurate phrase. A temple is something that is built with care and respect. The best materials are used and it is maintained and revered. A lot of time is also put in to build it correctly too.

All of this rings true for your body but let’s make this a bit less religious and talk about houses. It’s one of THE things we invest in. So let’s build ourselves a house!

Actually – allow me to rephrase – let’s contact the relevant parties to build you a house!

Who is gonna build this house? Enter the builder!

He’s in charge of the construction of the house. He will provide advice on building requirements, products and will have the expertise to make your dream home.

But what sort of house are we building? Enter the Architect!

They design the house! They create functional spaces in accordance to the wants and needs of the client!

Great! We have a plan and a builder to make it happen!

But how does he do it? Well.. he will have an array of tools at his disposal!

Hammers, saws, concrete mixers, spirit levels, nail guns.. our builder will have all the tools needed to make your house happen.. and if he doesn’t.. well.. you’ll see him sprint off to Bunnings to get it! 😉

Now – this is where things get serious. We have an architect who has designed the house, the builder to build it with his tools.. we now need some building materials.

Cement, timber, nails, steel, tiles, glue, nuts and bolts.. the list goes on! The builder will put the order in for what is needed but who pays for it?

Before we answer that – let’s slightly backtrack and align this analogy to transforming YOUR body.

Who’s the Builder? Your trainer is.
We are in charge of your training sessions and we provide the right advice on how to achieve your goals.

Who’s the Architect? Your trainer is.
We create a program that will allow you to achieve your goals.

Who provides the tools? Your trainer does.

So.. how about those building materials? You are in charge of your food!
Your building materials are FOOD! Glorious food! Now.. as your builder/trainer we can certainly give you information about food and the Metabolic Precision program makes it every easy for you to know what to eat and when.. but unless you buy the right food and eat it – how do you expect to build that body of yours?

I’ve heard many people over time tell me their house building stories and how the builder didn’t do this and the builder didn’t do that.. I’ve heard the same about Personal Trainers.. trainers that failed to get the results for clients. Definitely, there are a lot of trainers out there that are all about the money and not at all about positive outcomes for their clients but I have to pose the question – would you expect a builder to build a beautiful house for you if all your gave them to work with was sand, twigs and wire? If you don’t buy those materials, your house ain’t happening.

The same applies to building your body. If you don’t provide your body with the right nutrients at the right time – how do you expect to achieve the body you desire? As your trainer, I will see you for 2 possibly 3 hours a week. There are another 165 hours in that week that you are accountable for. I can certainly give you the knowledge and direction on what you need to do in those hours but unless we get the building materials (Food and more accurately – protein!) we need, you won’t ever see the body you envisioned.

A house in an investment – so is your body so it should make sense to make the right deposits into it. The main investment you can make is good, nutritious food.
